Your DHCP server can now automatically provide the NEC DSX telephone system with an IP address and other important network settings.
DHCP Support for the NEC DSX
You can set up the NEC DSX telephone system to be a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) client. This allows the installation site's DHCP server to automatically provide the DSX with an IP address and other important network settings.
Firmware 2.01 and higher.
Tips:
NEC DSX DHCP Release - Program # 1103-02: Enter 1. This releases the IP address in the server for reassignment and automatically clears (sets to 0.0.0.0) the following assignments in the DSX: IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router Address, and DNS Server Address.
NEC DSX DHCP Renew - Program # 1103-01 : Enter 1. If you have DHCP enabled, this option allows you to manually renew the DHCP lease between the site DHCP server and the DSX system. This renews the following assignments in the DSX: IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router Address, and DNS Server Address.
