Product Description

The T1 Trunk PCB provides advanced digital trunking and gives the DS2000 a maximum of 24 trunks in a single PCB slot. It offers the advantages of advanced digital trunking as well as conserving PCB slots. The available T1 trunk types include:
  • Loop Start (DTMF and Dial Pulse)
  • Ground Start (DTMF and Dial Pulse)
  • Direct Inward Dialing (DID) Wink Start (DTMF and Dial Pulse)
  • Direct Inward Dialing (DID) Immediate Start (DTMF and Dial Pulse)
  • E&M Tie Line Wink Start (DTMF and Dial Pulse)
  • E&M Tie Line Immediate Start (DTMF and Dial Pulse)
  • The T1 PCB can connect directly to the telco’s T1 smart jack. However, the local telco may require the installation of a separately-purchased Channel Service Unit (CSU) between the smart jack the T1 PCB.
  • The T1 PCB connects to the telco’s T1 smart jack or your CSU using a standard straightthrough CAT 5 cable.
  • Maximum 2 per system
  • Provides 24 conventional, DID, and/or E&M trunks
  • Does not include PRI capabilities
  • Requires NEC 80025B Expanded Memory CPU
  • Requires System Software 03.xx.xx or higher

Before you can use the subsitute part, you may be required to upgrade the firmware (internal software) in your phone system. This is a routing process.

We will provide you with the firmware and instructions on CD-ROM for upgrading your system software when we ship the T1 card for your NEC DS2000.

Before we can sell it to you, we must know:

- Which version of firmware you are running in your DS2000? To determine this, go up to any telephone and press "8". Do not pick up the telephone, just push "8" and write down what is displayed on the screen.

- Do you know how to upgrade your firmware if you need to? Your firmware may not support the subsitute part and you may need to upgrade the CPU card.

- Do you have the parts to upgrade it if you need to? You will need part number NEC 80048 to perform an upgrade.

- Do you know how to backup and restore, or reprogram the phone system if the settings are lost? Sometimes phone system settings are lost when upgrading firmware or installing cards.

- If you cannot perform the above, do you have access to a local technician that can? If you attempt to upgrade your system, and you are not qualified, you may lose programming and the system will not function correctly again until you re-program it.
